Graduate Info:

Unfortunately, if you are looking for information about graduating classes; accreditation and diplomas, we do not have any information to offer. Denise J, who passed away, was in charge of this department when the school closed down. If you are looking, you can either contact the Department of Education in Nevada or you might try John.

History

Love All People Ministry began April 19th, 1979 in Las Vegas, NV when a friend approached Prentice Minner with a problem. Her kids were getting into trouble and hanging around a gang. Could he do something for her? The answer was yes! He went down to North Las Vegas and talked to a gang of kids, lead by Rick Lane. He told them that there was a better way. They thought, “yeah, there is a better way – such as beating you up and taking your money.” However, due to the grace of God – a change was made – they began coming over to his house and just “hanging out”. Soon, one by one the kids moved into his house (with the permission of their parents) and began to learn the art of music.

By removing them from their negative environment and given them a positive influence (music), slowly their lives began to change for the better. They decided to take this one step further and tell other kids that there truly was “a better way.” Rick went from being a leader of a gang, to the lead singer of Love All People. These kids began to perform in the schools, churches and at other various organizations with a simple message. The message that begins with love and ends with change.

“To change and to change for the better are two different things.”
German proverb

Through the years, the success rate of kids making that change has been about 80%. There are those who pretended to change and never really did. Those who talked the talk, but never walked the walk. As you can expect, there are some happy endings to the stories and there are some negative endings.

In 1984, Love All People became an accredited Music Academy, thanks to a man named Wendell Newman. Mr. Newman came to see the group from Carson City and investigate. What he found were a group of kids who were willing to learn, but needed a different way. These kids who were losers, not only were able to graduate from High School – but when they took the Nevada State proficiency test, they passed it with very high scores.

Prentice believed in not only educating the kids with reading, writing, arithmetic and music but also in the every day things like how to balance a checkbook, current events, the names of not only the President and the vice-president but the cabinet members and what they did.
